ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY

Arthritis

Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.

AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts

Were proud to be able to participate in Jingle Bell Run, which is an annual 5K race hosted by the Arthritis Foundation. Beta Nu has worked tirelessly with the Arthritis Foundation representatives as well as many community members in the local area to make the event possible. We also have partnered with a local nonprofit organization, Books for Bloomington-Normal Kids, which works to put new books into the hands and homes of children in need. Through our partnership we have been able to support their work in distributing more than 170,000 books to more than 20 literacy programs since 2002.
